Mommy skills.

New skills I'm gaining from being a mom. Let's begin.
- Bouncing at all times while standing.
- Rocking while sitting AND standing.
- Eating cereal with my left hand.
- Waking in the night, and miraculously not remembering anything the next morning.
- Getting dressed, putting on makeup, and doing an up-do uber fast.
- Talking "baby talk" for over 8 hours consecutively.
- Falling asleep while feeding baby, sitting upright, and reading.
- Singing songs.
- Kissing faces.

I hope to continue to get better at these things, and hope to gain more skills... more along the lines of good parenting. Haha.
The time goes by so fast. I was blown away the other day when I realized it was the 23rd of January!!! I'm guessing that is just how things go until I get the hang of things.
I love my tiny baby. She is so beautiful and makes both of us SO  unbelievably happy.

I can handle cinderblocks.

So... about that last post... forget about it haha! Yesterday we got an email from Aggie Village telling us that we had been accepted and they have a 2 bedroom apartment waiting for us. We applied for Aggie Village at the beginning of the summer as a "last resort" place. Why a last resort? Well... the only time I was there for a bridal shower... it reminded me oddly of a jail cell. White cinderblock. Yep!
However, yesterday while conversing about what we should do, we realized we had less than 24 hours to tell them if we didn't want to move in anymore... which is scary because we haven't found a house yet. We also looked up the rates. Aggie Village is $495 a month, and we only pay for gas. Internet and cable are also included, not to mention its ON campus and they have 2 campus busses running through Aggie Village. So despite my dismay and heartbreak and realization of how much time I spent looking for houses on KSL, we decided to go with Aggie Village. Its a good thing that my husband uses his head and always knows what is the best decision, because if not, we would probably be moving into the most expensive house I could find, haha!
Although I was quite heartbroken last night, I have regained my spunk for decorating! I spent an hour of my two hour lunch break sketching our future rooms and what they (hopefully) will look like! And I'm excited all over again! Okay okay WAY too much talking going on here!
Here is a picture from my tumblr I came across a while ago, which I hope to gain some inspiration from!
Super cool looking! Not to mention I already bought the crates in Logan last time I was there ;D. And the lights will definately be present along with my coat hanger/bodice.
Sigh. So any other idea of how to turn jail cell into awesome, just let me know!
Also, last but not least! This is a picture of a baby, if it were to have Shane's eyes and my mouth.
What do you think?!
He he he...
I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.- albert einstein

House house house, i love this house...

House hunting is possibly one of my favorite pastimes. I have come to know KSL.com fairly well from the past few months of searching pointlessly. But NOW, it is not pointless searching! School starts in 5 weeks, and we need to get a move on! (haha get it?)
So today I spent many hours searching through KSL and I have come down to 5 top favorites!
Let me show you :D

1. TIPPY Top Fav.
This one is a LONG shot haha. It was originally $700 a month... ouchy. BUT they have lowered it $15! So hopefully within a week they can lower it to 550 a month including utilities... haha!
Anyways... we emailed them and gave them that offer... we figured we might as well shoot for it! Its been on the market for FOREVER! So here are some pictures!

Its cute huh! Anyways... This home has:
Off-the-street parking
Two bedrooms
Large Bathroom
Living Room
Parlor / Den / Office
Spacious Laundry room with W/D hookups
New Oven/Range & Refrigerator
New carpet throughout
New flooring in kitchen and bath
New two tone Paint

So NICEEEEE!Still... a LONG shot.

2. Next favorito!
For $550 a month!
The home features large windows, tall ceilings, a fireplace, new laminate flooring and fresh paint.
Cute house! Good yard!
AWESOME room! If we can fit our bed in here... we're stealing this room. What are your thoughts? Is it a little scary to have a baby in a room with a door and so many windows?
 Nice bath.
Weirdo kitchen... haha. It looks HUGE and... all one color. But thats fine! I like the rest of it! :D

Sigh... what a dream.

3. Favorito numero tres.
Going for $425 a month! An adorbs yellow house!
I LOVE THIS ONE! Sigh... only one problem.... its only a one bedroom. But.... it says it has a really big closet. HAHA! Maybe its big enough to make into a baby bedroom. Hahaha! We are funny!
Nothing real special except for how adorbs it is.

4. Number 4
Going for $560 a month, AND this one has 2 bedrooms!
This house is RIGHT across the street from the temple! :D. It is newly remodeled and we only have to pay for electricity which is a real dream! Not to mention it actually has air conditioning (central air no less!) which most houses in Logan do NOT have.
This is the only picture there is... haha! So hopefully the other rooms are cute too!

and last but... kinda least is
5.
I really like this one... BUT its $600 a month and... the outside makes me wanna barf.
Great looking apartment. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 Bath, an on-site laundry, and large windows with plenty of light and off street parking.

This Apartment has:
Off-the-street parking
Two bedrooms
Large Bathroom
Living Room
Shared coin operated laundry

K woof. That is the outside.
 Nice potty room :)
 Cute kitchen and nice floors!

And good looking bedrooms! Plus new carpet!

Sigh... if only I could demolish the outside... oh well! Its really actually cute :) I do like it more then I let on.

Anyways! Thank you for enduring my love for looking at homes! We are going up to Logan Friday and Saturday to (hopefully) complete the house hunt!
Feel free to leave comments about the house you like most and anything else you'd like to express!

What the summer!

Hey all!
I have not posted anything for a LONG time!... and the last post was a recipe.. so that should not even count. Sorry!
Let me tell you a bit about our summer!
Shane is working at Camp Williams, working with plants and soils and such.
I am working at Sandy Rec Center running a day camp (3 hours? is that considered a day camp?) for 3-5 year olds. Have you ever been inside a raquetball court with 15, 3-5 year olds?... ya.

We have been doing lots of things it seems like!
1. Trying to keep our house clean, I'm not very good at this.
2. Went to summer fest in Orem.
3. Gone camping, a lot.
4. Went fishing for 8 hours, didnt catch anything. Its fine. haha
5. Been with family :)
Much more.
One of our trips included bear lake! It was really fun!
I'm not going to try and make a cool collage out of all these pictures, so its just going to be a long post. K cool!
Bear(d) Lake!

 Matt Baugh

Shane said I could post this if I censored it.

 JEDI BRAID!!!! WOO!
If you are ever at Bear Lake, go to The Bear Cave. Hmmm... so yummy!
We had lots of fun there! We went and hung out with Matt Baugh and his family, Shane, Karl, and I slept in tents on their front lawn haha! it was cool.

When we are home, Shane LOVES to play with Tom.

Today we made Elk roast, mashed potatoes, rolls, and happiness. Karl, Matt and Sarah came over and devoured it with us! Then after slurping down 2 Creamies (:D) we played a nice game of WACKEE 6! If you don't have it, get it!
My nutella plants (from forever ago) have blossomed... although I dont know if they grew properly :) but thats fine!
I finished these 2 pillows I also started making months ago.
This is often how my front room is used. I like it :)
Also, I inherited an awesome ottoman from my grandpa! It was me taking it, or to the DI so naturally I took it! I used to sit on this, when me, Janae, and Danica would get pushed off the couches by the older cousins. Haha. We've been long time friends.
Now, we are substitute home-owners while Shane's parents go out to Wisconsin to help Ashley when she has her baby! :D I can't wait to get a picture of the lovely child!
Speaking of babies! I never posted a picture of Jaime and Peter's adorable babies!
ADORBS!

I also have a new way of taking care of my hair! Thanks to my cousin Zoey's blog post about Curly Girl's techniques. I don't shampoo my hair! I just condition it and rub it really well into my scalp with my finger tips, then rinse and put a leave in conditioner. Then I dry it with a t-shirt. Its really nice! It keeps my real curls without making it frizzy and frustrating! So... thats nice!

This coming week is the ......... oh wait... there are 2 things this weekend....
1. Harry Potter part 2 comes out!!!!!!! WOO!!!!!!!!!!! YES MY LIFE IS COMPLETE!!!!!!
2. Fausett Family reunion!!! WOO!!!!!
Now, dont get me wrong. But.... uh... WHO in the WORLD plans a family reunion over the LAST Harry Potter Movie??? Ya... I dunno. Whoever it was, there may be some consequences. (Hopefully my mom wasn't the culprit.)
Anyways, we'll be going do ter Price to see it the next day it comes out. Do you think they will have it in the Price movie theater? Do people in Price like Harry Potter?? I dunno! I guess we'll find out!
But I really am so excited for my reunion! :D I look forward to it ever year!

At the beginning of August we can start looking for houses/apartments/duplexes in Logan! We're trying to find a more homey comfy place that we can stay for the remainder of our school time in Logan. Why you may ask? Because moving is STINKY! That is why!
I am very excited. I've been looking for housing all summer... for no reason. Because all the places I look at will be taken by the time we get there. Haha. Its kinda an addiction.

I think next time I will fill you in on my future dreams for a home! :D Bye all!

To Minor or Not to Minor, I hate that question...

Hello all! Today is a nice sunny day with a brisk wind that makes it just a BIT too cold to sit outside, but thats okay.
News of the week,
- We had a fun weekend at both of our homes!
- Shane now officially has a summer job and I might get one at the 4-H office.
- Jaime and Peter slept over last night and we watched Tangled while doing math! (haha)
Thats pretty much it!
But yesterday in my art class we drew each other! It was really fun and a nice surprise because we usually just the same things on a still life stand every week.
I'm quite pleased with my work and very proud of myself so I'm going to put my drawing on here!

It looks a lot like her which rarely happens when I draw humans! YAY! (Hair needs help.)
Does this look like me? (I hope my nose isn't that big), But I think it looks good! My art partner drew it :D
So... I want to minor in art...
Pros-
- Awesome
- Better at art. (I've already improved a lot just from this Drawing 1 class!)
- I want to...

Cons-
- Long hard classes
- Either more credits per semester or graduate later.
- I'm nervous

Eep... not very sturdy argument is it. Suggestions? Advice? Anything?!?!
Thanks!
p.s. we left our trash on our porch last night and an animal got in it. But it opened the spot where our way nasty old salad was, so.... he didn't eat much and he's probably sick somewhere. HAHA! The poor dear.
BYE!

Great things.

Wanna know about great things today?
I do.
Great things from today are...
- Waking up to a clean room.
- Shane walking me to the bathroom this morning so I wouldn't get back in bed.
- Having "Stacy's Mom" stuck in my head while getting ready (thanks to Shane mentioning the song).
- Jumping and lip syncing around the house while munching on a PB&J that Shane made me for breakfast. (this includes jumping on the couch, where I think my phone has been swallowed up by the jaws of Nevereverever-gonna-find-it-land.)
- Getting to class just in time to hear everything we needed, but not having to sit through the actual class!
- Teaching myself to not be lost in ADD-ness in math class and begin my self-mastery section called "actually learn math".
- Listening to my Soils lecture AND writing on a blog AND I still know whats going on!
- Very curly hair that is getting longer and its pinned up very MarLyn-ishly to the back of my head!
- My soils teacher pronounces Fungi, like Fun- jiiii. As in Sponge-i but minus the sp and add an f. Making sense? Its weird and makes me laugh.
- Knowing I will be spending the remainder of my day drawing my wall for my art project, making a wind-breaker jacket out of plastic bags, and writing a proposal for english. (These are one of times when you feel you have so much to do... and you dont know why.... but somehow you still get it done and the time period after its done becomes a very happy time in your life.) This one is kinda random.
- Watching who-knows-how- many X-files episodes yesterday.
- Its sunny!!!
- Looking forward to everyday that passes is another day closer to Jaime having her babies, and crossing my fingers that "My sister-in-law had twins" is a good enough excuse for possibly not doing my homework (depending on when these lovely children will be born).
-Wearing my bag from Peru!

Wow... today rocks! I should do that everyday!

Now, tell me what you think...
1. We need to re-design our blog. Too much orange. I feel like a construction worker everytime I get on here. Thoughts?
2. Also, minus the fact that i LOVE my Canon Rebel E1skdfjls;dkv;dm ajd (something like that) camera, its huge. Lets accept that fact. Its great for certain things, but the percentage of pictures I usually take has gone down DRASTICALLY since I bought it. Therefore, we are going to buy a small hand-held camera thats only $100 bucks. Then I can grace your eyes and hearts with more pictures on my blog!

Well off to Institute! We have the best teacher ever, Curtis Jacobs... or... Jacob Curtis.... What a cruel name to have... it could go either way!

Best Day...

Yesterday (the past 24 hours actually) is now on record as one of my favorite days of my life.
It started out rough, but after I got through my test (that I guessed on half of it and still got 82%!) it got better.
It was so warm. The sun was out. It seems like years since I'd really felt the sun since Logan is always 20 degrees.
We went to the grocery store, planning for 2 amazing conference breakfasts.
We went home and took a nap with the window open.
I watered my flowers.
I went to work wearing sandals and shorts.
There is something about sitting in the sun and basking in it while on an elementary school playground. I pushed my Kindergarteners on the swings. I made a hopscotch board with chalk on the blacktop and helped one of my little K's discover that he LOVES hopscotch. He played for 30 mins and yelled everytime he was about to go for me to watch him and how good he is. I passed out popsicles to all the kids and ate one myself sitting on the grass. Then I played soccer with the older kids and some of my leader friends. With NO shoes on. In the grass.
There is something about being surrounded by kids and being able to be a kid yourself again.
When I got home, Shane surprised me with something I've been DYING for. The movie "Tangled". (Its the best!). I was so happy!
We packed up and went to Subway. I've been saving my Subway points up for a REALLY GREAT DAY! And on that day I was going to use my hard earned Subway points to buy a free sandwich. That day was yesterday. This should tell you how great yesterday was.
After eating yummy sandwiches we went to the Rock Haus (climbing gym) for a Wildlife Society Social. We climbed, bouldered, and talked to people. It was so much fun! I love climbing. We are currently thinking about taking a climbing class in the summer.
We walked outside, and it was still warm :).
At home I set up a tent (while Shane felt a little sick) on our big deck. We put our futon pad inside and brought lots of blankets and pillows inside.
The remainder of our night consisted of us watching Tangled inside our tent all cuddled up with blankets.
I fell asleep to and I woke up to sounds of birds chirping, ducks quacking. It was so great to wake up outside.
THEN!!!!! (no, its STILL not over!) We made crepes with vanilla pudding, nutella, bananas and strawberries! YUM!
Now we just finished watching Conference at Jaime and Peter's house.
Its been a great 24 hours.
I love my husband, he is the best ever!!! He always makes me smile when I'm mad and being stubborn, and can make me laugh any time! He always makes my little wishes and big dreams come true! He made yesterday such a great day, along with good weather, a great job, children and just having a great life!
SIGHHHHHHH!!! :) awesome day. My life rocks.

"Wherever you go, no matter the weather, always bring your own sunshine." - Anthony J. D'Angelo

Time and looking back.

I'm sitting on our futon, it was a wedding gift from Shane's parents, we've been married for almost 3 months. Shane is playing guitar, I just submitted an english paper. I'm now 20 years old, and Shane will be 23 in a month.
When I look back, high-school seems so hilarious, carefree, and full of good memories. Thats why I get lost looking back. My freshman year of college was all late nights, Betos runs, and way too many pictures along with lots of failed class, but I would not give it up. Thats why I get lost looking back.
At this point I feel stressed. Stressed about accomplishing everything I want to become and experience in my life, and trying to fit it all in so soon, because I'm afraid I wont get around to it later on. Worried that I'm wrong, or that my gpa wont be high enough to maintain my scholarship, or worried that I dont have all the necessary qualities needed for all the titles I hold. Scared that I will forget good memories from my past, scared that I will pass time with stupid things when I should be doing a million other things, scared that I will hurt people's feelings. Scared that I'm not doing the best I can in everything.
This is not a "Debby Downer" post! So hold on cause I'm getting there!
But while reading a book (Tuesdays with Morrie) and also just pondering on life and all its wonders, I realized that all those time periods that I look back on are so great but its because I look back on all the good things, and have forgotten the sad or bad things (unless I learned a great lesson from them). And that is exactly how this stage in life will be. I may feel stressed and worried about dumb things, but in 3 years when I look back I wont remember that one night I cried cause I was so tired of doing math homework! (well I might now because I wrote it on here... but you get what I mean. haha.) I wont remember how stressed I was about trying to develop all my dream talents, or even remember how many times I was late for work. But I will remember how many times Shane and I watched X-Files into all hours of the morning on a school night, and how many crazy things the kids at work said, and how many times Shane made me laugh and we made up another weird song with our "lisp" voices.
I seem to remember all the good times and all the things that brought about something positive. That is how it will be in the future. So why am I worrying right now? Not to say you shouldn't worry about getting good grades, but I mean come on! You gotta have fun too! Priorities still need to be straightened out and cared about.
I will probably still cry every time I listen to "Stop this Train" by John Mayer or "Never Grow Up" by Taylor Swift, but I think thats okay. Cause after I cry, I wipe my tears and smile about something else.
Sigh... growing up ain't so bad right?! Haha! Its about time I started making head way on this problem I've had since I graduated high-school.
Well :) lesson learned, and I'll probably keep on learning on this same subject.

p.s. dont shun me because I like Taylor Swift songs!
Bye :D

Birfdays and Crafffts!

CHEERS!
I have yet to figure out how to rotate pictures, but its okay.
This is our friend Jorge with Shane at Smiths about a year ago. This is in honor of his BIRTHDAY!!!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ON TUESDAY JORGE!
We are throwing a birthday party for him and Nicole on Monday (they share a birthday :))
So hopefully we will have pictures of that!
Today at work we are going to have a "Birthday Party" for all the Kindergartners! An all around b-day party! So when my Soils class is over (I'm currently in this class :) hehe) I'm going home and making mini cupcakes for all the children! (supplies for mini cupcakes, thank you mandy!)
I will take pictures of that too... I hope. haha

ALSOO!!!!
I have sketches of (and some supplies) for some grand crafts!
First, I'm making 2 pillowcases that have a beard and girl hair form made out of yarn!
It will be something like this, pretty close. haha.
Then my next craft is hair do-eys! I have detailed sketches of these all over in all my notebooks since November! I'm so stoked! So I will start working on those, seeing how the will come together! WOO!

I also have a new goal to take more pictures, cause pictures are fun :).
Well I'm off, I might listen to my lecture, or I might shop online to find ideas for Shane's birthday present. We'll see! haha!
"No person has the right to rain on your dreams." Martin Luther King :)
bye!

my children and other updates.

I work at an elementary school, working with the After School Program. I get to work with the Kindergardeners! (is there a correct spelling for that word??). I am excited to go to work every day!!! I just wanted to share some things from my wonderful line of work.
Children are the best. Even though they lie all the time! haha! Everyday someone says "MISS MIN!! she just punched me in the face!"-child "what?! no she didnt, i've been watching you guys for 5 minutes."- me "well she punched me way hard, you missed it!"- child "uh... okay. well dont stand by people who punch you." -me.
hahaha ah.... I love that, because what else are you supposed to say?? Sometimes I do say something about how we dont punch our friends and we are all friends here, but I dont know how much that does if they never actually punch each other.
My second favorite occurrence is how honest children are. They dont hide their curiosity.
The other day I wore my hair really curly (therefore it was very large). I walk into the school and my favorite asian child says "WOW! Miss Min! What happened to your head!"
Sigh... its called doing your hair. Hahaha! Some friends at work have told me stories of their own, such as during a bad break out they say "whats wrong with your face?"
Its just so funny when kids say it, you just cant get mad at them.

Also, as a random update, Shane and I are speaking in church on Sunday! Our topic is Charity. I have 20 mins to talk! Everyone says I can use 5 mins just introducing us haha which I think I will do. The last time I spoke in Sacrament meeting was when I was graduating and you are still considered a teenager, so noone cares if you only take 5 mins. I am still adjusting to people considering me as an adult. Well my mom keeps telling me that people consider me as an adult, but I still dont think people do. Hahaha!

Anyways, hopefully Shane will update on what he is doing soon, cause he could say it better than me. Okay bye! :D
