Taegey Ballerina- Tiny Tuesday

Hey babes.
A lot has happened since I last wrote.
We brought Gianni up here to live with us and it's been going as well as possible.
You got terribly sick one night last week. You threw up and couldn't keep anything down until 6 in the morning, then finally slept a few hours. After that you perked up quite a bit! It was the first big sickness you've had. It was so hard to see you so tired and sad but you just didn't feel good enough or comfortable enough to sleep. I'm so glad you are doing better.
We both have colds now, but I'd take that over a tummy bug any day.
You are getting good at talking, and most of the time we know what you are trying to say. The other day you said "'Lo! Nenny bobby der" (translation: hello! Anybody there?!" I had never heard you say "anybody" before, so I was happy to hear your cute rendition of it

Yesterday you had your dance recital.
As a parent it was so fun to go and see your perform. It was a first for both of us.
Luckily enough Daddy didn't have any finals that day, and Grandma Hill was able to come see you too! I was so proud of you the whole time. You were a good listener, you were nice to the other girls, and you are a great dancer! You take your princess walk very seriously!
(cont...)

I don't know if that was the first of many or the only dance recital... but I can't wait to find out what you really love to do.
No matter what it is we will be here for you. We will be so proud of you.
Always do your best.
Don't compare yourself to others. Just try and be better than you were before.
You are so beautiful Taegan. You have the most contagious smile and you glow with love.
I'm so glad you are my babes.
Goodnight,
Love Mommy

Stay sane, go outside.

This is actually a Tiny Tuesday post, but the title holds advice for other moms.
Go outside.
I'm not one to preach because I just learned this, but it really helps a ton. Obviously this is more of a problem in the winter, especially in Logan where it's so cold. But it has kept me sane the past few weeks.
I gave up my "I'm not even ready for the day" excuse, and I just shove on my boots and a hat and go out with Buns.
Do it. It makes things look and feel so much better.

Hey Buns!
This have been busy... but in a weird way.
Since I've been pregnant I've been tired (obviously...) but even more so because I have low blood pressure. It's been getting better, but at first it was so bad I would just pass out from fatigue on the couch and say a prayer that you wouldn't get into anything dangerous. And we would watch a lot of shows.
So... I've felt like a pretty lame mom the past few months.
Luckily you've been such a good sport.
Now things are looking up and I'm feeling better and we are having more fun now.

We made your first snowman a few days ago! You just kept kicking the snowballs I would try and make for the body, and you would throw snow at my face, haha! I showed you how to make a snow ball and throw it into the snow. We watched a few disappear into the perfect snowy lawn.
At the end of our snowman adventure I told you to give it a kiss.
By the time I had managed to run to the side to try and get a picture, I saw you biting the carrot nose! HAHA! You make me laugh.

As I said, we've been going outside more often. It hasn't been as cold as usual so it's been perfect for a nice walk. We usually go down a block to the temple and back around.

As of now you love "How to Train your Dragon" and dinosaurs, pretty much anything that roars.
You start to react to things you haven't before. If someone burps you will either make a surprised gasp and say "wow!", or you will laugh and cover your mouth with a little hand.
You make funny faces without being asked. I will look over at  your randomly and you will be looking at me out of the corner of your eye, like you've been waiting for me to look at your for forever. Then I do the same face and we both bust up laughing.
When you do get a little rowdy I tell you "if you do that, you go to time out" or if you already know that I say " do you want to go to time out?" Unfortunately... you usually respond with "uh huh!".
If it seems like you are just... flustered with things going on I will say "do you want to go take a break in your room for a bit?" you say yes and run to your room. I'll wait a few minutes and I join you. You seem to feel better and you end up jumping on your bed while I read books out loud to you.

Today we were waiting for Daddy in the car and you started to get restless. I asked you "do you like cats? dogs? fish? bears? dragons?" yes yes yes yes..... Then I asked what your favorite one is. You bark like a dog.
THEN I asked you, "do you like trees? houses? mountains? rocks?" again, you respond yes to all of them. "Which one is your favorite thing?" and even this time, you bark like a dog. HAHA! As you can see, you love dogs.
When we are out for walks you call for dogs (unseen dogs) to come out. I wish they would so you could see them.

Well, we are tired, and you've been waking up throughout the night and coming into our room to visit us so... we better get to bed.
Love you buns.

p.s. you actually started calling me "mommy"! It's so cute!

Dresses and Dinos

Hello.
I didn't make a New Years Resolution to blog more, because I just don't think it's that important, SO no inspirational talk from THIS girl!
But I have cute pictures and stories :)

Hey Tiny Buns,
Things have been busy here, as usual around the holidays. We stayed at Gigi's for a week while Daddy stayed in Logan and worked on his project and work.
Then came Christmas...
then Mommy and Daddy's anniversary, then New Years and THEN your birthday!!!

Christmas was fun! You got spoiled, as expected.
Dad and I went to 2 movies and shopping for our anniversary. We saw Enders Game and Catching Fire, you were dying to know that weren't you?
New Years was fun, but ended early. We went over to Aunt Jaime's and devoured some Chinese food. Hmmm.. mom's favorite. Then Jaime's friends came over and the grown ups played games while you kiddies watched Beauty and the Beast.
Then we were going to put all the kids to bed and play more games but... I was struck with a really weird sickness... called overeating, and something else because I couldn't stand up without passing out. (don't ask, it was weird). And you kept screaming your little Tiny head off and didn't want to sleep. So we headed home around 10:00. You and I were asleep by 10:30 and Daddy stayed up and watched shows. Poor guy. But we got plenty of sleep AND had a great day the next day.

Your birthday is for another post :)
Now that we are done with holiday recaps, here is what I wanted to focus on.
Your first Tea Party.
Your cousin Molly had a Tea Party birthday celebration and YOU were invited!
You actually got a tea set for Christmas, but we hadn't really used it yet.
Aunt Jaime let us borrow a princess dress, because we are not owners of one yet.
We made crowns and wands, had scrumptious lunch, and watched Sofia the First. Then Molly opened presents and then we went into Molly's room and played with every toy imaginable!
It was so fun to watch you play with your cousins your age without distractions.
It was also fun to do something so girly, because I don't think I'm very good at that.
I love the contrast because you had so much fun at the party, but as of right now you LOVE dragons and dinosaurs. Haha. Good balance I'd say.

You were all such pretty princesses.
I love you babes.
Love Mommy.

Beds and Ballerinas- Tiny Tuesday

Again... not a Tuesday

Heya buns!
You've hit some big milestones! Sometime last week you woke up multiple times during the night and climbed out of your crib. You would walk around and cry because you couldn't see anything! You even ran into a wall once. We realized that we should probably change your crib into a toddler bed in order to keep you safe, because nothing was stopping you from climbing out of bed.
So we did. I honestly couldn't wait to do it!
You played on it all day! Luckily you were even dressed as a ballerina that day. So it was double the cute.

 You were being so silly.

The two sides of you....... haha.

I'm glad I caught this picture of your hair... I love it.
I moved the giant rocking chair out of the way so we had SO much more room to play.
As a result I'm dying to get a smaller wooden rocking chair to replace it. It makes the room much more fun to play in if there is more wide open space.
As a result of the new and easier way to get out of bed, you kept getting out of bed and going to your bedroom door. I was going to loose it, I was getting pretty worried about what to do after a while...
Then your dad (your smart dad!) got home from school and he had an idea. Everytime you came to the door one of us would pick you up and put you back in bed and say "it's time to go to sleep Tae".
Miraculously you learned after doing that about 4 times!
So life in a toddler bed has gone well since then.

You also have been "singing". Your cousins left a singing Ariel doll at the house and you love to sing a long with her. She sings "la la la la la" and you sing a long "wa wa wa wa wa". You are adorable.
Tonight we were dancing to Tangled music and we spun around and laughed. Then you started singing. Ah... you precious child. I love to hear you sing.

The other day we were making buttermilk cookies. You are finally interested in cooking with me! I let you hold the handle with me as we used the mixer. You got so excited! You screamed and stomped your feet. Then you leaned over and gave me a big wet kiss and continued to scream and laugh.
I love you Buns.

You use more words, but only once. I think you just like to tease us by only saying a word once, then keep up begging for you to say it again. You are started to love to read even more. You love coloring with PENS (which has caused a few stains on the futon cover). You mostly draw very small and precisely with your head very close to the page. I picked up a paper that you had drawn on for a few minutes and there was just a triangle shape of a bunch of small scribble spots. You are so funny.

I love you lots. It is supposed to snow tomorrow and I'm PRAYING that it does! This year you will appreciate and (hopefully) love snow! :)

Tiny Tuesday. Snow day and whispers.

Hey Tiny :)

Our Saturday morning was spent with Lizzy and Robyn in the snow.
We've been lazy, and since the weather has been warming up a bit it was good to get out.
The snow was hard! Lizzy and Robby went around walking right on top of it (a dream of every adult).
You didn't really like being set down, unless we were holding your hands. Needless to say you spent most of the time in our arms, which is fine :)
You loved watching your cousins run and laugh and fall in love with snowballs.
You get the biggest kick out of them.

As for development, you've gone from bottles every 4 hours to eating 3 meals a day with snacks and sometimes a bottle at night. Huzzah! Well done Tiny!
We are getting rid of the binky!
You sleep just fine without it, but church is a very loud occasion.
You just want to walk around outside in the foyer during Sacrament meeting, but... we can't get in that habit right?! You yell inside the chapel, so we spent the time outside in a chair.
It was loud.
That's okay.
Hopefully we are one step closer to all being able to stay in the chapel.
You had 2 teeth come through recently! That makes the count a total of 7!!!
Four on top, three on bottom.
I love your crooked smile, as does everyone else.
You started throwing things. We toss balls to each other. You also toss food, which lets me know you are done. You have taken well to sippy cups, but love when we help you drink from a cup.
You still LOVE to read! You will bring us a book, sit on our lap and not even half way through you get up and grab us another one. You're favorite books are "The Twelve Bots of Christmas" and "Baby Animals".
You are pretty much saying your first word! (Besides Dada), you say "Buh!" which usually means "Boo!". You always say it when we start a grand old game of peek-a-boo.

I was singing to you before I put you down for sleep.
You were curled up against my chest with your head on my shoulder.
You nuzzled your head into the curve of my neck.
I love holding you. You are getting busier and faster than ever.
It's nice to hold you close, and I love that you don't want to let go.
I whispered to you.
I said "I love you".
I've never meant something more than I mean that.

I love you.

Flour and toting.

Our adventures have been very messy as of late.
We've been letting you try and feed yourself. You usually just like to dump the bowl or plate and then eat off your tray... oh well. We're getting there. Plus you look really cute with food all over your face.
Last week we pulled out a bunch of flour and tiny cupcake cups. You LOVED IT!
You would grab a handful and throw it all over the floor. Then you would dust it with your hand. You were so fascinated. It was adorable to watch you open and close your hand, so curious about what was on your hands. Then you would lick it and give me a great curious/disgusted face. We need to do this again soon.

You are close to mastering walking. You love to just WALK! You will just walk around, room to room, with no interest in anything but getting around the house.
You are a toter. (Is that a word?)
You love to carry the lotion, wooden spoons, and the remotes. You take them on your destination-less walks. Totes.

We also went sledding with our friends for your first time! It was so cold (5 degrees) that it didn't last long. We took you down once, and you decided you were done. I was too cause it was COLD! We're going to go again this weekend at GG's house.

You are so much fun. We play all day. You still love to read. If I'm not reading fast enough you just give up and bring me another book, and so on and so forth. You love string cheese and yogurt balls. You can drink cows milk now, and you can enjoy a good pb&j.
I love you.
You are begging me to play, so lets go!
